This year’s Multicultural Children’s Book Day (MCBD) will be on January, 29, 2021. MCBD is a not-for-profit children’s literacy initiative with a mission to raise awareness of the ongoing need to include kids’ books that celebrate diversity in homes and school bookshelves. In its 8th year, MCBD was founded by two moms, Valarie Budayr and Mia Wenjen, who sought to shine the spotlight on all of the multicultural books and authors on the market while also working to get those book into the hands of young readers and educators.
